Do you actually know that for an egg itself, there are multi ways to cook it, and each different technique I am about to demonstrate to you will produce a different egg dish, that can be used for a wide variety of dishes!

Types of Egg Dish that you can cook at home

Cooking an egg might look simple, in fact, they are one of the most delicate ingredients easily available to us. Below are the egg dishes that I am about to show you;

  3. English Scrambled Egg

It is all about Temperature Control

Due to their delicate nature, cooking eggs is always about controlling the temperature, as the egg is very sensitive towards heat. Overcooking at egg will give you eggs that are dry and rubbery. The better you are at controlling the temperature, the better you will achieve your result!

Ingredients

  • 1 nos Egg
  • Oil
  • Salt

Instructions

Street Fried Egg

  • Preheat the pan with oil.
  • Add egg to the side of the pan, turn the egg over when it is cooked half-way through.
  • Pan-fry until the egg cook on both side

Sunny-Side Up

  • Add oil to the pan and switch to low heat.
  • Gently add the egg in and let it slowly cook for about 4 minutes.
  • The egg yolk should remain runny.

English Scrambled Egg

  • Add oil to the pan and switch to low heat.
  • Whisk the egg in a bowl and then add it into the pan.
  • When the bottom begins to cook, gently use a spatula to push away the bottom layers.
  • Cook until the egg turn from runny to silky. Serve.

Egg Skin Wrapper

  • Add oil to the pan and switch to medium heat.
  • Whisk the egg in a bowl and then add it into the pan.
  • Hold the pan up and spread the egg all over the pan to form a thin sheet.
  • Once the egg sheet has set, flip it over and cook for another 30 seconds. Serve

Hard Scrambled Egg

  • Add oil to the pan and switch to medium heat.
  • Whisk the egg in a bowl and then add it into the pan.
  • Continuously push the egg around to form egg curd.
  • It is done when there is no more runny egg.

Omellete

  • Add oil to the pan and switch to low heat.
  • Whisk egg, tilt the pan so the oil drip to one side of the pan.
  • Add the egg so the egg would stay at one side.
  • Push the bottom layers of the egg as it cooks.
  • As you keep pushing the bottom layers, gently tilt the egg so more surface area is covered.
  • Tilt until all the surface is cover. Remove and serve.

Hard-Boiled Egg

  • Bring a pot of water to boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer with only tiny bubbles.
  • Put the egg into the water and let it cook for 11 minutes.

Soft-Boiled Egg

  • Bring a pot of water to boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer with only tiny bubbles.
  • Put the egg into the water and let it cook for 7 minutes.

Poached Egg

  • Bring a pot of water (about 3 inches height) to boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer with only tiny bubbles.
  • Crack open an egg into a bowl.
  • Use a spatula to create a swirling vortex in the water.
  • Gently add the egg into the center of the swirling vortex.
  • Cook for 3 minutes.

Steam Egg

  • Prepare steamer at full boil.
  • Whisk egg with water at 1 part water to 1 part egg.
  • Add egg into steamer and steam for 7 minutes - 10 minutes or until the egg cooks.
